What to See at Saadian Tombs

Take time to notice the tombs’ architecture, decoration, chambers and courtyard.

Historic Saadian architecture and natural light

Look at the sequence of spaces

Begin with the relationship between the chambers and garden courtyard. The Hall of Twelve Columns, the Hall of the Mihrab and the Hall of Three Niches each form part of the monument’s architectural story.

Notice the smaller details

A carved edge, a patch of shadow or the meeting of tilework and plaster can hold as much interest as a wider view. Allow a little time to pause and look without touching historic surfaces.
